ABOUT THE ARTIST

Katie Mintle is a local Colorado artist! Born in the foothills of Boulder, her paintings are greatly inspired by nature, especially the towering Rocky Mountains of her home. She currently works primarily with acrylics to create her imaginary landscapes which always possess a touch of whimsy. Katie comes from a long line of artists and has always been encouraged by her family to pursue her art. She graduated with a BFA from Cornell College in 2018 winning the distinguishing Kimmel Award for painting in her graduating class. Katie has been greatly influenced by the style of Georgia O’Keeffe - her favorite artist since she was a young girl.

Katie is also a singer/songwriter, and multi instrumentalist. She has been performing music since 2007, busking on the streets of Boulder with her little harp since she was 11 years old. Though music has been a part of her life since she was very young, singing is a more recent passion. Katie began singing harmonies during COVID with her roomate, Thom LaFond (of Banshee Tree), for his videos and home recordings. After posting some of those videos online, she started getting calls to sing for other groups and recording projects. Katie has been an enthusiastic member of Thom’s band ever since and has sung for other artists like Jessica Carson (Clandestine Amigos), Dan Rodriguez, David Darling, and more. Katie is currently singing for two other amazing local singer/songwriters Ryan Dart, and Duncan Coker. You can find all upcoming show dates on the bottom of the home page!
